"As your Councilman, I will work to preserve the small town rural character of Arroyo Grande. To me that means supporting agriculture, local business, our village core, existing neighborhoods and the open friendly attitude that characterizes our town.

"I also recognize the importance of head-of-household jobs for our families and the economic vitality of our community.

"From my perspective, any development or annexation must be compatible with the character of our community and blend with the existing residential and commercial areas. Updating the General Plan, with strong community participation, is crucial to the decisions in this area. I believe my experience on the Planning Commission, as a banker and a business owner uniquely qualify me to help bring this about."
